DHS Boys Cross Country Takes on National Powerhouse

The Gaels’ Varsity Boys Cross Country took on one of the nation’s top Cross Country teams (Bellarmine College Prep of San Jose) in a very exciting meet on February 27 on the campus of Dublin High School. Bellarmine College Prep came out on top with a score of 22, holding a scoring order of 1-2-4-5-10(14)(16), averaging 15:24 throughout the race. The Bells’ top performer was Nolan Topper who finished the 3-mile race in just 14:45.3!

For Dublin, they came in second with a score of 33 and holding a scoring order of 3-6-7-8-9(12)(13), averaging 15:43 for the race. Their top performers were Daniel Trampe who came in 3rd place, followed by Sharvin Manjrekar, Cole Turpin, Grayson Young, and Joshua Turpin.

St. Francis (Mountain View) came in 3rd with 94 points, holding an average of 16:57 for the race, holding a scoring order of 11-15-18-23-27. Piedmont finished with 111 points, which was good for 4th place, with a scoring order of 19-20-21-25-26, averaging 17:24 for the race. In 5th place, Foothill finished with 120 points, holding a scoring order of 17-22-24-28-29(30)(31), averaging 17:26 to finish the race.

Girls Varsity: A balanced effort in today’s Girls Varsity race across all athletes and schools, as St. Francis (Mountain View) finished in first place, with a final score of 23 points. Christel Elkins and Isabelle Cairns finished top two for St. Francis, earning them a total of 3 points for their squad. Following St. Francis, Livermore finished in second with a total of 61 points, as Dublin came in third place, with a total of 84 points. The top finishers for Dublin High School were Maia Marquez who came in 5th place overall, followed by Medha Gowda in 13th place. With a total score of 85 points, Foothill finished in 4th place, as Piedmont finished 5th place, with a total score of 109 points.

Boys JV: Bellarmine College Prep finished with a total score of 18 points, holding a scoring order of 1-2-3-5-7(9)(10), averaging a total time of 16:49. Dublin came in second with a total score of 41 points, averaging a total time of 17:10. Their scoring order was 4-6-8-11-12(13)(14). Junior Adrian Tran led the Gaels by finishing in 4th place, while sophomores Tanish Mumar and Luke Wu came in 6th and 8th place respectively. 

Girls JV: A competitive race led to Piedmont coming out on top with a final score of 25 points, as St Francis (Mountain View) finished second with a final score of 42, and Foothill  coming in third with a final score of 42 points. Dublin High’s squad pulled through and made it very close, as Shirya Gupta and Maya Manesh finished in 6th and 7th place. Piedmont held the top three spots in the race, as St. Francis followed through owning 4th and 5th place. 

Boys Frosh: Bellarmine College Prep finished first in the Boys Frosh Race with a final score of 22 points, holding a scoring order of 2-3-4-6-7(8)(10). Their average time was 17:20 led by their top performers Jude Hammers, Ian Knight, and Tanay Doppalapudi finishing 2-4. St. Francis came in second with 64 points and an average time of 18:13 to complete the race, holding the 9-11-12-14-18(21)(31) spots. The Dublin High School Gaels finished in 3rd place, with 70 points ,led by sophomore, Juan Pab Munoz Arroyo, who came in first place! He led the Gaels followed by Harsh Gupta, who came with 13 points. They both led the Dublin High Schools to 3rd place, and helped them achieve an average of 18:35 throughout the race, holding the 1-13-17-19-20(26)(28) spots.
