The first full week of athletic activities saw success for both the Dublin High School (DHS) Girls and Boys Golf and Tennis teams. In tennis, both squads each recorded season-opening victories this week over Livermore (8-1, 9-0), while the DHS Girls Golf team shot a 234 under blistery conditions to record a victory over California at Bridges to help cap off a successful week for the Gaels. Dublin’s only set-back came in Boys Golf, as the Gaels fell to the Grizzlies 219-229.
Kim Burch and Ria Rahats paced the Gaels by each shooting 45 in the Girls Golf match, Freshman Alex Suen lead the Boys Team by shooting a 43, followed by Kyle Chen who shot a 44. The Girls will be back in action on March 1st against San Ramon Valley at Crow Canyon Crow Club, while the Boys will be taking on Amador Valley on March 2nd at Ruby Hill.
Defending EBAL Girls’ Tennis champion Jessica Holbea lead the way for Dublin by recording a 6-0, 6-0 victory, while the Gaels’ #1 singles player Bharadwaj Tallapragada also posted a 6-0, 6-0 win. Dublin’s season home-openers will be this week against Granada with the Girls match on Tuesday, March 2nd and the Boys at home against the Matadors on Thursday, March 4th.
