The Varsity Football game scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 10th between Dublin and Amador Valley has been cancelled due to the reporting of a positive case of COVID-19 on the Dons’ squad. There will not be an opportunity for the two teams to make up the game due to the fact that the North Coast Section is not allowing any football beyond April 17th. The game will officially be declared a “No Contest.”
The cancellation of the Varsity game did not impact the JV contest, as Pleasanton USD officials did not deem there to be sufficient contact between the infected player and the Junior Varsity squad to warrant a suspension of that contest. Dublin played competitively on both sides of the ball before dropping a 27-12 decision to Amador Valley. The game will be the season finale for the JV team as next week’s scheduled opponent only has a Varsity team.
Dublin’s Varsity football team will have its own season finale next Saturday, April 17th with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Information on how to access the live-stream will be posted as it becomes available.
