One of the state’s marquee high school racing events took place once again on April 24th on the campus of Dublin High School, as the Dublin Distance Fiesta was transformed into the Dublin Social Distance Fiesta. Although considerably smaller than normal years given health protocols related to the pandemic, local high schools still had the opportunity to compete in 800m, 1-mile, and 2-mile races against healthy competition. The Gaels were led by Dimitrious Zannis who won his heat in the 2-mile event.
Normally held on just one Saturday, given the tremendous interest of schools to participate combined with the need to limit the number of runners and fans in attendance, another event will be held on May 22nd. Information on the link to access the live-stream will be posted as the date approaches.
