The Dublin High School Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team celebrated Senior Night on Friday, April 23 as they hosted Dougherty Valley in the season finale for both teams. Dublin honored five seniors, including C.J. Cahambing, Dunyia Mohabbat, Tiffany Dai, Ella DeGuzman, and Kate Baker.
The Gaels and Wildcats were locked into a defensive struggle for most of the first half until Dougherty Valley scored some late goals to go up 5-2 heading into the break. Dougherty Valley scored the first five goals of the second half to open up a 10-2 advantage before Dublin battled back late to come within 4 goals before ultimately falling 12-7. Sophomore Julia Ravazza led the Gaels by scoring 6 of the team’s 7 goals, while Hailey Guinto did an excellent job in the net keeping the Gaels close with several tough saves.
Despite the loss, the team definitely showed signs of improvement, and with 18 returners coming back next season the future is bright for the Gaels. Anyone interested in being a part of next season’s program should contact Coach Hurd at hurdemily@dublinusd.org
