The start of the season for the Dublin High School Varsity Boys Volleyball team got off to a rough start. The Gaels dropped their first two sets and were poised to being swept 3-0 in their season-opener. Staring at what looked to be a defeat, Dublin rallied strong to win the final three sets to pull off an improbable 3-2 at Foothill on April 28th.
As proof that the late rally that previous night was not a fluke, the Gaels also won their next three sets in the rematch against the Falcons at home the following evening. That marks six straight victorious sets, and the Gaels are now 2-0 to start the season. Dublin’s JV team also bounced back after losing their opener to defeat Foothill in straight sets at home in the rematch.
Dublin’s Varsity Boys Volleyball team will be back in action on May 5th against Livermore before returning home to face the Cowboys again on Thursday, May 6th at 7:00 p.m. Although admission to the home contest is for families only (2 tickets per player), the match in the Sports Complex can be viewed via live-stream at www.gaelstv.com.
