The Dublin High Varsity Baseball team got back into the win column, going on the road on May 5th to defeat Livermore 7-4. Jackson Schofield had a big day for the Gaels, tossing 4 strikeouts in 3 innings of work from the mound and helping his own cause offensively by going 1-for-3 with an RBI, while also drawing a walk and scoring a run.

JJ Burgess helped lead the way offensively for Dublin by going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base. Blake Moddelmog and Mason Gomez were also key offensive contributors for the Gaels combining to score 3 of the team’s runs, and Jake Cooney came off the bench for a pinch-hit RBI single late in the contest to help preserve the victory.

Other highlights from the week include the continued success of Dublin’s Boys and Girls Varsity Volleyball teams. Each team swept their home-and-home matches with Livermore in straight sets (3-0). The Boys Volleyball team is now 4-0 on the season, while the Girls are 2-0.

In other news, Eamon Fakhri scored a goal to help keep Dublin’s Varsity Boys Soccer team unbeaten, as they battled to a 1-1 draw against Amador Valley. Idaho-bound Senior Jaeden Nelson had a goal for the Varsity Girls Soccer team, as they nearly came away with a 1-1 tie before giving up a goal with 4 minutes remaining to fall 2-1 to the Dons.
