Dublin’s Varsity Softball team exploded for 7 runs during the first inning and never looked back en route for a 14-4 victory over Kimball of Tracy on May 4th.
The Gaels were led offensively by Amanda Engel, Juliana Cooney, and Tanaya Barrett. Engel and Cooney each went 3-for-4 while Barrett went 3-for-5. Kaylynn Van also had a multi-hit game, and Sydney Costello scored 3 runs after drawing two walks and stealing a base. Engel also scored 3 runs and tallied 2 stolen bases. In total, Dublin amassed 15 hits, including 4 doubles and a triple by Barrett.
The winning pitcher for Dublin was Freshman Olivia Suyat, as she also helped her own cause offensively by knocking in 2 runs and drawing 2 walks to help keep multiple rallies alive.
