Boys Basketball Improves to 10-2 with Six-Game Win Streak

The Dublin High School Gaels Boys’ Varsity Basketball team finished another grueling 5-game week against tough competition by going 4-1, highlighted by an entertaining win against a highly ranked Granada squad and another victory against ranked San Ramon Valley to improve their overall record on the year to 10-2. 

Four players scored in double figures and Courtney Anderson Jr. led the way with 17 points in a 66-50 win against the Wolves. Caleb Oden finished with 14 and Donovan Cooks finished with 10 points as well. T.J. Meagher helped stop the second quarter run by San Ramon Valley with 13 points as well. The Gaels were in control throughout the contest (held in the Auxiliary Gym), and the victory helped avenge one of Dublin’s only defeats from the 2019-2020 season.

In Friday night’s matchup against the Matadors which may prove to be their final home game of the season (the Amador Valley home game previously scheduled for 5/26 has been canceled), Dublin jumped out to a 20-5 after the first quarter ad went into halftime up 39-20. 

The Gaels were still up by 18 after the end of the third quarter until the game become competitive late as Granada came all the way back to cut their deficit to one before Dublin locked up on the defensive end and winning 68-65. Caleb Oden finished with 27 points and Courtney Anderson Jr. tallied 24 points as the Dublin High School Gaels continued their 6 game win streak before dropping their final game of the week at Granada 70-64 the following afternoon.
