Dublin High School’s Varsity Football team will be the first official program on campus to kick off the 2021-2022 athletic season, as they will be gathering for their first official practice bright and early on the day the fall season officially starts – Monday, August 9th at 7:00 a.m. For those interested in playing on the Junior Varsity team, their first practice will start later that same afternoon at 3:15 p.m. Dublin High will not be fielding a freshmen team this season.
The Gaels finished an unprecedented spring season with an overall mark of 2-3, but boasted a prolific offense that averaged 29 points per game. Considering that the squad returns over 20 players for this season’s campaign combined with the fact that they are hosting seven home games this fall, there is a high level of optimism in the program.
All those who are interested in participating should contact Head Coach Brandon Black at blackbrandon@dublinusd.org. In addition, all participants must be officially cleared in order to join the squad.
For students to be cleared they must follow the steps below:
- Valid physical (within one calendar year) on file with Student Activities or uploaded during the registration process.
- Register online at www.athleticclearance.com.
- Turn in the confirmation page (part of the online registration) with signatures to Student Activities, without this last step the student will not be cleared. It can be physically turned in to the Student Activities office or emailed to olanderlaurie@dublinusd.org. Clearances are completed in the order they are received.
Once all paperwork is received the Secretary in Student Activities verifies the information, checks grades, and clears the athlete for participation. The student will not show as cleared until the Secretary completes the process. The system will send you an email when the process is complete.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Student Activities Secretary, Laurie Olander at 925-833-3300 extension 7105 or by email at olanderlaurie@dublinusd.org or the Athletic Director, Tim Sbranti at sbrantitimothy@dublinusd.org.
