The Dublin High School Varsity Girls Golf team launched the 2021-2022 athletic season when they hosted Foothill on Tuesday, August 17th at the San Ramon Golf Club for their season opener. Although practices began on August 9th, the East Bay Athletic League (EBA) contest between the Gaels and Falcons was the first event of the year. Senior Annie Zhou recorded the best score for Dublin by shooting a 42, and Dublin was victorious
Dublin rebounded the next day with a convincing 211-294 win over San Ramon Valley. Senior Jessie Burch led the Gaels with a 1-under 34 while Zhou shot a 37. This was followed by a dramatic 214-216 win that Dublin posted over Dougherty Valley to close out the season’s opening week. It was a great team effort with Natalie Park, Annie Zhou and Jessie Burch turning in stellar scores, while Sofia Gonzalez and Anika Sharma had their best results in their high school careers.
The Girls Golf team is now 3-0 on the season. Their next match will be on Tuesday, August 24th against Livermore at the team’s home course (San Ramon Golf Club). Other programs having their first competition next week include Girls Volleyball, Football, and Cross Country, while Girls Tennis will spring into action on September 2nd.
