Boys Cross Country Mariner Invitational Champions; Gowda Sets DHS Record

Mariner Invitational – October 16, 2021 – Hayward High School, Hayward
  • The varsity boys team continued their dominance at the North Coast Section Hayward High School course, winning by nearly 90 points!  Every team member medaled – seniors Daniel Trampe (3rd – 15:19), Cole Turpin (4th – 15:26), Joshua Turpin (5th – 15:31), Matthew Morgon (8th – 15:34), Sharvin Manjrekar (9th – 15:37) and Adrian Tran (35th – 16:34); and junior Nathan Manesh (13th – 15:54).
  • In the Varsity Girls Race, Dublin High School history was made as junior Medha Gowda became the school record holder at the historic course, crossing the line in 18:01 just eclipsing the previous record by 3 seconds.
  • The Junior Varsity Boys Team won the Large Schools division by having four in the top 5 of the race.  They were led by individual winner senior Vincent Giannini (16:15) and individual medalists seniors Sharva Santhakumar (2nd – 16:28), Alexander Martinez (3rd – 17:18) and Conan Wang (5th – 17:27), and freshmen Tanish Zutshi (37th – 19:46) and Christian Clemmensen (45th – 20:36).  Freshman Ryan Saleh (21:46) rounded out the team.
  • The Frosh Soph Boys Team almost completed the boys teams sweep, narrowly losing by 6 points!  Sophomore Rahul Dutta won his first race of the season in a time 17:03 while every member earned individual medals – sophomores Kaden Wong (2nd – 17:40), Fagu Jiang (13th – 18:28), Sahij Gill (29th – 19:12) and Enkhtaivan Burrows (32nd – 19:22), and freshmen Tristan Gan (6th – 18:00) and Shaan Sidhu (26th – 19:00)
  • Other individual medalist included:
    • Varsity Girls – seniors Maia Marquez (37th – 19:52) & Ameri Miyazawa (31st – 19:43); freshmen Laasya Balupari (15th – 18:38) & Melia Prenton (33rd – 19:44)
    • Frosh Soph Girls – sophomores Isha Mittal (37th – 26:49), Kassidy Nguyen (14th – 22:45) & Anahat Randhawa (36th – 26:16); freshmen Athena Contos (25th – 24:00), Rosie Liu (18th – 22:57), Kaitlyn Maskey (27th – 24:09) & Ruoyi Wu (17th – 22:55)
    • Junior Varsity Girls – sophomores Kelsey Claire (29th – 25:54) & Marjan Naik (35th – 27:42); freshmen Mahitha Jonnalagadda (36th – 28:00) & Aditi Kapadia (32nd – 26:28)

Clovis Invitational – Saturday, October 9, 2021 – Woodward Park, Fresno
  • In what ended becoming the fastest race in the history of Woodward Park (home of every California state championship and previous national championships), the Varsity Boys Team stepped up to the pressure and delivered a great performance, knocking off two nationally ranked teams in the process.  They were led by individual medalist senior Sharvin Manjrekar (36th – 15:42), who set a personal best at Woodward Park by 1:49!
  • The Varsity Girls Team also made history, running the fastest team time (1:40:23) in Dublin High School history by 9 seconds.  They were paced by individual medalists junior Medha Gowda (14th – 19:15) and freshman Laasya Balupari (21st – 19:31).  Other contributing members were seniors Maia Marquez (20:42) and Ameri Miyazawa (20:34); juniors Elissa Delgado (20:20) and Yashvi Srivastava (20:31); and freshman Melia Prenton (20:38)
  • Other medalists:
