This is a huge week for Dublin High School Athletics with major events taking place in a variety of sports.
Following our Varsity Girls Volleyball team pulled off a stunning upset of the #1 seed and EBAL champion Football Falcons on Saturday night in the NCS Quarterfinals, the Gaels advance to the NCS Semi Finals tomorrow night (Wednesday 11/3) at Amador Valley at 7:00. This also paves the way for the program to make its first ever appearance in the CIF State Tournament (NorCal Regionals) that begin next Tuesday (11/9).
Looking ahead to other important sports action this week…..
Today (11/2) – Varsity Girls Tennis Senior Day at Home v. Dougherty Valley (4:00): The team is 10-7 overall this season and a victory will keep its NCS hopes alive.
Friday (11/5) – Football v. Dougherty Valley (4:30/7:00): This is Senior Night for our Varsity Football team, along with the Band, Color Guard, and Cheer. In total, we will be honoring 84 seniors on Friday night. In addition, a victory will secure a likely NCS berth for our Varsity team, while a win by our JV squad will give them a winning record for the first time in several years.
Saturday (11/6) – EBAL Cross Country Championships @ Newhall Park: Our Boys team is looking for its 5th consecutive EBAL title but will have to hold off a strong challenge from Granada. Our Girls team is also showing dramatic improvement and is on the verge of qualifying for a potential team qualification in the CIF State Meet at the end of the month. Frosh-Soph and JV races will also be taking place starting at 1:00 (with Varsity races at 2:50 and 3:15 respectively).
