The Dublin High School Varsity Girls Volleyball team lost a tight battle in the NCS Division 1 Semifinals before a raucous crowd at Amador Valley High School on Wednesday night (November 3rd).
Dublin won the first 2 sets 25-22 each before the Dons evened the match by winning the ensuing two sets 25-18 and 25-22. The Gaels were up early in the 5th set before Amador Valley rallied for an 11-10 advantage. Dublin pulled back ahead 13-12 before the Dons won the final three points of the match to win the decisive 5th set 15-13.
Despite the loss, Dublin’s season continues next week as the Gaels earned an automatic bid into the CIF Northern California Regional Championships next week. The Gaels earned their spot following their victory at Foothill on October 30th, the first time that the #8 seed has defeated a #1 seed in the Division 1 bracket in NCS history to earn a CIF berth. It is also the first time in the history of the Girls Volleyball program to advance to the CIF Tournament.
The brackets will be released on the evening of Sunday, November 7th and links to purchase tickets will be available on the DHS Athletics website as soon as they
