The Dublin High School Wrestling team came away with a thrilling 39-33 home victory over Livermore in its EBAL Dual Meet opener on January 18th. The victory came on Senior Night, as Xavier Garcia, Bradley Freitas, Nash Hamby, Dakodah Hazen, and Ryan Nelson were all honored prior to the meet.
Four of Dublin’s wrestlers win by pin, including Garcia, Hazen, Jordan Resultan, and Charles Reyes. Shane Crespin also notched a key win to help secure the win for the Gaels over the Cowboys. Garcia’s pin came in a mere 27 seconds, while the pin by Reyes was also noteworthy as it came in his first every Varsity match.
Dublin’s victory over Livermore also demonstrates improvement within the program, as the Gaels fell to the Cowboys in a dual meet the last time they competed against each other in 2020.
