Folsom went 23-6 overall and were the champions of the Sierra Foothill League. They advanced to the Semifinals of the Sac-Joaquin Section championships before falling to Modesto Christian. The only common opponent between the Gaels and the Bulldogs is Sacramento High School. Folsom defeated Sacramento High on January 15th while Dublin lost to the Dragons in the opening round of the Gridley Invitational in early December.

If Dublin wins, they will advance to face the winner of the matchup between #4 Miramonte and #13 Clovis North. This marks the 5th consecutive season in which the Boys Basketball team has advanced to the CIF State Tournament. In their most recent appearance in 2020, the Gaels advanced to the Semifinals of the CIF NorCal Regional before losing 62-60 to Sheldon. The Tournament was canceled in 2021 due to COVID.
