Due to a shortage of officials available to cover all of the high school football games in the East Bay this week, the upcoming football games Dublin High School was hosting against Kimball High School of Tracy has been rescheduled.
The new date is Monday, September 19th with JV kicking off at 4:00 p.m. and Varsity kicking off at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free to all athletic events with a DHS Digital Sports pass and/or an ASB sticker. For those purchasing tickets, the Dublin High School GoFan page for all events is here. Both the JV and Varsity games will be live-streamed on GaelsTV.
Dublin comes into the game with a 2-1 record overall, following a 36-6 home victory over Newark Memorial on September 9th. It was the Gaels’ second consecutive win after going on the road to defeat Castro Valley 20-0 the previous week.
Dublin jumped out to a 36-0 halftime lead and was on the verge of posting back-to-back shutouts until the Cougars scored a touchdown on the game’s final play. The Gaels defense did accomplish a remarkable feat of going the entire game without giving up a first down. Brady Steadman scored three touchdowns, including one that came on a 67-yard punt return. Adam Moore added two touchdowns of his own, including one on a 32-yard reception on 4th-on-14 on a pass from Angel Barraza.
Kimball comes into Monday night’s contest with an overall record of 2-2. The Jaguars have played a difficult schedule thus far against some of the San Joaquin Valley’s difficult teams, falling 30-22 to Escalon last week and 34-32 in the season opener against cross-town rival Tracy. Kimball has wins over Lincoln-Stockton 30-29 and West-Tracy 40-21.
In other action, the JV team won its first game of the season 28-0 against Newark Memorial, while the Frosh team lost to Monte Vista 35-13 in a game that was rescheduled to Saturday at Gaels Stadium due to extreme heat.
