It is very rare that one school can come away with 4 Varsity wins in a single day in the highly competitive East Bay Athletic League (EBAL), but that remarkable feat was accomplished on Tuesday, October 11th by Dublin High School.
The Varsity Girls Golf team accounted for half of those wins by securing a 202-210 win over Amador Valley at Dublin Ranch. Due to the intense heat wave earlier in the year, it was decided that Tuesday’s match between the Gaels and Dons would count for 2 team results, so the win over Amador Valley was particularly important in potentially punching a ticket to the North Coast Section (NCS) Team Tournament.
Callie McLaughlin led the way for Dublin with a round of 38, and the Gaels improved to 10-7 in EBAL play this year. After starting the season 1-6 overall, the team is red hot at the right time. In addition to winning 9 of its past 10 EBAL matches, the Gaels also took 1st place at the Lone Tree Invitational last week. Dublin finishes the regular season with its Senior Day home contest against Granada on Thursday, October 13th at Dublin Ranch (3:30) before gearing up for next week’s EBAL Tournament
Dublin’s Girls Tennis Team was able to improve its record to .500 on the season with a 7-2 win at California. The Gaels are at home against Carondelet on Thursday, October 13th at 4:00 p.m. In their previous meeting, Dublin won a thrilling 5-4 match that came down to a 3rd set tiebreaker to determine the outcome.
The Girls Varsity Volleyball team capped a successful day by defeating Granada in straight sets to improve to 12-4 overall and 6-4 in EBAL. Dublin will be celebrating its Senior Night on Thursday, October 13th against San Ramon Valley starting at 6:30. Fans are encouraged to come early as the senior recognitions will be taking place before the match. In addition, there will be 2 team hype videos shown on the ScoreVision board. In addition, the undefeated Freshmen team will be taking the court at 4:30 followed by the 15-1 Junior Varsity team at 5:30, so it promises to be a great night of volleyball in the Sports Complex.
