Most outdoor events scheduled for Tuesday, March 21st and Wednesday, March 22nd have been postponed due to the recent storms.
Contests that were impacted on Tuesday included the nonleague home Junior Varsity and Varsity Baseball games against West (Tracy), a home Varsity Softball game against Foothill, and a Varsity Tennis match that was scheduled to take place at Livermore. The Baseball games against West have been rescheduled for Thursday, March 23rd at 4:00, while the new date for the postponed Softball game is set for Wednesday, March 29th at 4:00. The date and time for the Boys Tennis match will be announced at a later date.
Despite the fact that the rain tapered off slightly by Wednesday, due to soggy field conditions and mid-afternoon sowers, the Varsity and JV Baseball games against De La Salle and the Frosh Baseball game against Acalanes were all postponed. The make-up dates for the Varsity and JV games against De La Salle will take place on April 11th, while the Frosh home game against Acalanes has been rescheduled for April 19th. The JV Softball game against Foothill will need to be rescheduled with the make-up date still TBD.
One outdoor contest that attempted to proceed was Tuesday’s Boys’ Golf match against California on the Gaels’ home course at Dublin Ranch. However, after two holes were played it became clear that conditions were too poor to continue play. The match will be made up as part of a double-header with the Junior Varsity time at the Grizzlies home courses (Bridges) on Wednesday, April 12th at 3:30.
Similarly, there was an attempt to play a home tennis match against Livermore on Wednesday, but it was called off just minutes before it was set to begin due to some mid-afternoon showers. The date and time of the make-up match has been moved to this Friday, March 24th at 4:00. In other scheduling changes, the match at De La Salle that was originally scheduled to take place on March 14th has been moved to Monday, March 27th.
One additional change to the schedule involves Varsity Softball. The game scheduled for March 23rd at home against Livermore has been postponed to the following Monday and will now take place on March 27th at 4:00. The JV game between the Gaels and Cowboys will take place the following afternoon (Tuesday, March 28th at 4:00).
