The Dublin High Boys Volleyball team may have just set a school record with its 9th consecutive victory this week after straight set wins over California and Livermore. Dublin is now 11-2 overall, and 6-2 in East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) action). The Gaels will be off over Spring Break before returning to the court for home matches against Foothill (Tuesday, April 11th) and Granada (Thursday, April 13th) in two matches that will go a long way towards determining playoff positioning.
Another team that had a streak going was the Varsity Boys Tennis team. The Gaels had won four consecutive matches which included a 5-4 win at De La Salle on March 27th before dropping a narrow 5-4 decision at San Ramon Valley on March 30th. Dublin’s team is on Break until returning to the court at home against Granada on April 11th.
Dublin’s Baseball team had its streak snapped at home against Granada on March 31st, losing a pitcher’s duel 2-0 in a game that was tied heading into the final inning. Before the loss to the Matdors, Dublin had won 6 straight games. The Gaels (7-2, 3-1) are now will be competing in an Easter Tournament at El Camino High School in Sacramento between April 3-5 and then resume EBAL play on April 11th by hosting a make-up game against De La Salle.
Two other teams competing over Spring Break include the Softball and Track and Field teams. The Softball team will be participating in the Livermore Stampede and playing at Ernie Rodriguez field from April 6-8, while the Track team will be heading to Arcadia to compete on April 7-8.
Other highlights from the week before Spring Break included the Badminton team improving to 4-2 on the season after a 15-2 win at Quarry Lane, while the Girls Lacrosse reached the .500 mark following a 7-6 win at Livermore. The Boys Golf team also had success heading into Break, earning their first victory of the season after defeating Granada 178-197.
