The Dublin High School Varsity Boys Volleyball team battled valiantly in the East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) Championship match before falling in four sets to Foothill 25-20, 29-27, 22-25, 25-22. However, the Gaels were rewarded for their excellent season by the North Coast Section Division 1 Seeding committee by being awarded their highest seed ever at #2 only behind the EBAL champion Falcons.
Dublin will be at home on Thursday, May 4th at 7:00 p.m. against American High School of Fremont after the Eagles defeated Liberty in five sets (winning the 5th 15-13). If the Gaels prevail, their likely opponent in the NCS Semifinals will be the #3 Amador Valley Dons on May 9th.
Two other teams competing in EBAL Championships this weekend were the Badminton and Swim teams, with several athletes earning bids to next weekend’s NCS Championships.
The Swim team had an astounding 67% of their participants record their personal records. Kaitlin Lee came in second place for the Varsity girls 200 and 500 free. Zach Dorsett came in first for the JV 100 individual medley, and Hariom Patel came in third for the JV boys 500 free. The final list of qualifiers for this weekend’s NCS championships is as follows:
