Dublin High Varsity Swimmer Kaitlin Lee had another remarkable performance at the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Meet the weekend of May 12-13 in Fresno. Lee finished 2nd in the entire state in the 500m Freestyle, and also had a strong showing in the 200m as well to cap a historic season for a Gael swimmer.
The Dublin High School Badminton team also had several competitors shine in the North Coast Section (NCS) tournament. Every player won at least one match. In the end, Jasmine Yeung 2nd place in Girls Singles and will advance to compete in the CIF NorCal Badminton Tournament this Saturday, May 20th at Independence High School in San Jose.
Sahib Sidhu/Philip Chu advanced to the top 8, while Bhagya Gajula and Aileen Wu/Nicole Ham advanced to the top 12. This season also marked the best finish in school history, as the Gaels team score ranked #5 in NCS, which was the 2nd highest finish of all East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) teams.
This week also saw the conclusion of the Dublin High Baseball season after dropping its NCS 1st Round Playoff Game at Liberty 4-0. Despite the loss, this was the team’s 3rd consecutive appearance in the NCS playoffs and best overall season since 2006. Dublin finished 16-9 overall, but posted wins over the #1 NCS seed (De La Salle), the EBAL champions and #2 seed at NCS (San Ramon Valley), and the #4 seed (Amador Valley). In addition, the Gaels won the Folsom Tournament Championship and had several thrilling walk-off victories to highlight what was a very exciting season for the program.
