Girls Golf Competes at NCS, Home Football Finale, and EBAL Championships This Week!

The Dublin High School Girls Golf team capped a successful season on Monday, October 30th by competing in the North Coast Section (NCS) Division 1 Championship Tournament at Tilden Golf Course in Berkeley. This was the Gaels’ second consecutive postseason appearance as one of the 20 qualifying schools from 63 who compete in Division 1.

Dublin finished in 12th place at the event with a team score of 499. Callie McLoughlin led the way by shooting an 89 on the 18-hole course. In addition to McLoughlin, Jayden Simoneau, Sophia Lee, Sofia Shiao, Sofia Gonzalez, and Audrey Phan Out of the NCS participants, Gonzalez is the only senior, so the future definitely looks bright for the Girls Golf program.

The future also definitely looks bright for the Dublin High Football program, which boasts of four freshmen playing at the Varsity level and a Frosh team that is 8-1 overall heading into their final game. Dublin will be having its Senior Night celebration this Friday, November 3rd as it takes on Dougherty Valley in the Battle for the Shelale.

The recognition of seniors on the football team will take place immediately following the conclusion of the Junior Varsity game at approximately 6:15. All senior members of the Cheer squad, Irish Guard Marching Band, and Color Guard will all be honored at halftime. In total, there will be nearly 100 seniors recognized throughout the evening.

Admission is free to all athletic events with a DHS Digital Sports pass and/or an ASB sticker. For those purchasing tickets, the Dublin High School GoFan page for all events is here. For those unable to attend in-person, the game will be live-streamed on the Athletic Department’s YouTube channel “Dublin Gaels Live.”

In other action this week, the Girls Tennis team is looking to build off its’ 1st ever league title in school history with a successful performance at the EBAL Tournament that begins on Thursday, November 2nd at the Club @ Livermore. Results will be posted as they happen on the league website – www.theebal.com throughout the event that goes through November 6th.

Similarly, the Dublin High Cross Country teams are poised for another strong showing at the EBAL Championships on Saturday, November 4th at Newhall Park in Concord. The event starts at 1:00, with Varsity Boys running at 2:50 followed by Varsity Girls at 3:15.
