Varsity Football Wins Shelale, Frosh Football Goes Unbeaten in EBAL Play

The Dublin High School Varsity Football team trailed 14-7 as it entered the 4th quarter against Dougherty Valley in its home finale, before rallying for two touchdowns in the final 12:00 to defeat the Wildcats 21-14. It was a great send-off for the team’s 25 members of the Class of 2024 playing in their final game on Senior Night.

Quarterback Sean Collins connected with Ethan Kennedy for two touchdowns, including a 29-yard scoring play with 10:41 remaining in the game to tie it 14-14. After a Dougherty Valley drive stalled out on the 24-yard line, Dublin went on a game-winning scoring drive in the final minutes before Kemauri Stinson scored on a 15-yard touchdown un with 1:01 left. Canaan Tripplett’s interception in the final minute sealed the victory.

The Gaels finished the season 5-5 overall, an impressive feat given the prevleance of so many injuries. Dublin’s Junior Varsity team also finished 5-5 as it posted a 21-0 win over the Wildcats.

The future definitely looks bright for the program though following the Freshmen team’s 9-1 record overall and undefeated record in East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) action following a 47-0 victory in the team’s final game.
