Boys Basketball Earns 7th Straight CIF State Tournament Bid

Despite the heart break of a 64-61 loss in front of a standing-room only crowd in the North Coast Section Division 1 Championship game at home to Dougherty Valley on Saturday night, the Dublin Boys Basketball team has once again earned a sport in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Basketball Tournament.

The Gaels are the #16 seed in the CIF Northern California Bracket for Division 1, and will open the tournament on the road against #1 seed Clovis West. Tip-off is at 6:30 and the game can be viewed on the NFHS Network.

This is the 7th straight season in which the Gaels have appeared in the CIF State Tournament, which is an ongoing school record for consecutive appearances dating back to the 2016-2017 season (note – there was not a CIF State Tournament in 2020-2021).

If Dublin wins, they will travel to face the winner of Lincoln-Stockton and Serra-San Mateo in the CIF NorCal Quarterfinals on Thursday night.

In other CIF news, Dublin’s four wrestlers did an outstanding job in the CIF State Tournament this weekend in Bakersfield, with Lana Nguyen medaling.
