The Dublin High School Track & Field Team hosted another record-breaking Dublin Distance Fiesta on the weekend of March 15-16. Our event is the largest distance-only Meet in the United States, and shattered several milestones again this year
Two events set new world records. In the Girls 1600, 333 girls finished with a time of sub 6:00, easily surpassing the previous mark of 268 for a single event. The Distance Fiesta also crushed the world record for one event in the Boys 1600, as 568 participants eclipsed the 5:00 mark to easily beat the old world record of 411.
The 2024 event also broke our own national records from 2023 with 197 high schools entering 3,809 student athletes for a grand total of 6,107 race entries. Attendance records were also shattered at the annual two-day event which saw most of Dublin’s runners set personal records.
