The Dublin High School Varsity Girls Lacrosse team had another successful week, posting a 16-8 home nonleague victory over Clayton Valley last Tuesday and then going on the road to defeat Foothill 13-8 in its East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) opener on Friday.
The Gaels are now 4-2 overall to start the season (1-0 in EBAL), making this one of the strongest starts in the program’s history. Dublin will look to improve to 5-2 and 2-0 as they get set to host Livermore on March 26th before traveling to face Monte Vista on March 29th.
Dublin High School’s Softball team also had an impressive victory last week, outslugging Foothill 18-13 in a game which saw the two teams combine for more than 30 hits. Tanaya Barrett went 4-for-4 to lead a prolific offensive attack, and the Gaels exploded for 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning to break up a game that was tied 13-13. This was the 2nd week in a row in which Dublin defeated one of the Bay Area’s Top 10 ranked teams, and despite falling to Livermore 4-3 later in the week have a lot of confidence as they enter upcoming tournaments and head into the heart of their league schedule.
Dublin’s Stunt team improved to 3-0 to start the season after defeating Livermore 17-13, and the Gaels almost made it 4-0 before dropping a 14-13 nail-biter to San Ramon Valley on Friday. The Gaels will be taking on Granada at Dougherty Valley on Tuesday, March 26th at 8:30 before facing Granada at San Ramon Valley on Thursday, March 28th at 5:00.
In other highlights from the week, Dublin’s Badminton team improved to 3-2 after defeating California 12-5. The Gaels have a busy 3-game week that opens at California on Monday before returning home for contests in the Auxiliary Gym against San Ramon Valley on Tuesday and Clayton Valley on Thursday.
Another team with a rare Monday contest is Boys Lacrosse, as they will be going on the road to face Livermore on March 25th at 7:15. The squad will conclude the week at Las Lomas on Thursday at 7:00. The Swim team is also away this week with a Meet at Amador Valley on Thursday afternoon.
Looking to some of the other key home events this week, Wednesday promises to be a big day as the Baseball team hosts Foothill and the Track and Field team is hosting a Meet against Amador Valley and Granada. Both events start at 4:00. Tennis is also home this week, as they will be taking on San Ramon Valley on Tuesday afternoon, while Boys Volleyball hosts Livermore on Thursday evening.
