The Dublin High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce it has hired Kevin Kramer to be its new Varsity Girls Volleyball Head Coach. Kramer is a highly accomplished coach who takes over a program which has had a strong run of recent success under the leadership of Mike Bongay, including multiple North Coast Section playoff victories and its first ever berth in the CIF State Tournament.
For over 20 years, Kramer has worked as an instructor, coach and administrator at the community college level. During that time, his experiences have helped him to develop a passion and personal commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students with diverse backgrounds, maximizing individual
and collaborative performance to enhance opportunities for success, and creating a culture for
student-athletes to grow on the court and in the classroom.
In his previous role as a full-time instructor and Head Coach of the indoor volleyball, beach
volleyball and softball programs at Gavilan College, he built programs in which
student-athletes found success on and off of the field of play. Kramer built two different programs into perennial regional and state playoff contenders. In addition, he also directed and coached in youth volleyball clubs throughout the greater bay area, currently serving as the Boys Club Director, 16-1’s Boy’s Head Coach and 18-1’s Girls Head Coach at NorCal Volleyball Club in Livermore.
Outside of coaching, Kramer is currently working full-time at Las Positas College as the Dean of
Public Safety, Advanced Manufacturing, Athletics, Transportation, Health, Kinesiology and
Nutrition.
Kramer plans to schedule a meeting for all current Dublin High students who are interested in playing Girls Volleyball next season on Thursday, April 18th at lunch in the Leadership room (E-6). Information will be shared about strength and conditioning for the remainder of the spring, summer camps and clinics, and the expectations for the upcoming season. There will also be a meeting for all incoming freshmen announced at a later date.
