Dublin High School played host to the prestigious North Coast Section Track and Field Meet of Champions over the weekend of May 17-18, and several Gael athletes qualified for this weekend’s California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Meet in Clovis.
Nathaniel Maddox finished in 3rd place in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 14.61 to punch his ticket to State. In the Girls 4x400m Relay, Angelica Gomes, Naeemah Grant-Gurganious, Ria Inamdar and Kayci Phillips also posted a 3rd place finish with a time of 8:00.11 to qualify for the State Meet. The feat is particularly impressive for Grant-Gurganious and Phillips as they are only freshmen.
Dublin also competed this weekend in the CIF Northern California Regional Badminton Championships, and all Gael competitors earned medals. Jasmine Yeung finished in 3rd place in Girls Singles, Girls Doubles pair Bella Meng and Angelina Wu came in 4th place, while Mixed Doubles duo Philip Chu and Sahasra Gajula earned a 5th place finish.
