The Dublin High School Cross Country team continued to make waves through Northern California at the prestigious Ed Sias Invitational at Hidden Valley Park in Martinez on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Competing against 47 schools, the Gaels came away with 3 team wins, 3 other team medalists, 2 individual race winners, and 16 individual medalists. In other highlights from last week, Dublin’s Varsity Girls Volleyball team went on the road to defeat last season’s North Coast Section Division 1 Semifinalists Amador Valley 3-1. The Gaels dropped the first set 25-20 before rallying to edge out the Dons in the final 3 sets by scores of 25-23, 26-24, 25-21.
Dublin’s Varsity Girls Golf team improved to 3-1 overall on the season with two wins last week. The Gaels notched an impressive win over a talented Foothill squad 244-263 last Tuesday, while also defeating Granada 232-264 on Thursday. The Freshmen Football team also improved to 2-1 overall after shutting out Heritage on the road 13-0.
The Boys Water Polo team defeated San Leandro, Girls Water Polo and Girls Flag Football suffered narrow nonleague defeats, and the Varsity Football team was up 13-10 midway through the 4th quarter before dropping their home opener to Heritage 22-23 to round out last week’s action.
