Football Returns Home This Week, Along with Girls Tennis, Girls Golf, and Boys/Girls Water Polo

All five levels of Dublin High’s Football programs are home for what promises to be another exciting week of Dublin High Athletics.

The action kicks off on Tuesday, September 17th with the Junior Varsity and Varsity Flag Football teams hosting Amador Valley (6:00/7:15). The JV team is coming off of a victory last week against Foothill, while the Varsity team lost in a close contest at Sacred Heart College Prep following a late comeback. Later in the week, the Freshmen Football team will be hosting Castro Valley on Thursday, September 19th (6:00), while the JV and Varsity Football teams will be hosting a doubleheader against Windsor on Friday, September 20th (4:30/7:00).

Admission is free to all athletic events with a DHS Digital Sports pass and/or an ASB sticker

For those purchasing tickets, the Dublin High School GoFan page for all events is here. Tickets are $5 for the Girls Flag Football and Frosh Football games, and are $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior-citizens attending Friday night’s JV/Varsity doubleheader. For those unable to attend, the games will be live-streamed on the Dublin High Athletics YouTube channel “Dublin Gaels Live.”

This week will also see the debut of the Varsity Girls tennis team, which is coming off of its first league title in school history. The Gaels will be hosting Amador Valley in what is officially considered a nonleague match on Tuesday, September 17th at 3:30 before opening up East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) Valley Division play against California on Thursday, September 19th at 4:00.

After a 16-day span on the road, the Varsity Girls Golf team will also be returning to its home course at Dublin Ranch to take on Carondelet on Thursday, September 19th at 3:30. Two other teams playing nearby for “home” contests off the Dublin High campus will be the Boys and Girls Water Polo teams, as they will be hosting San Ramon Valley (5:00/6:00). The Boys will proceed to compete later this weekend in the Vintage Valley tournament in Napa.

Other teams in action this week include Girls Volleyball and Cross Country, as both teams look to continue the strong momentum from last week into this week’s competition. Volleyball will be on the road to face defending NCS champions Foothill on Tuesday followed by Granada on Thursday, while Cross Country will be competing in the prestigious Nike Invitational at Newhall Park in Concord on Saturday. For the Cross Country team, it will be a good opportunity to compete on the same course where the EBAL Championship meet is conducted.
