The fall athletic season has officially come to a close with Dublin High School’s Varsity Girls Tennis and Cross Country teams competing in California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Championship events.
In Girls Tennis, the Gaels had one of the strongest finishes of any athletic program in school history, climbing all the way to 3rd place among all divisions in all of Northern California. After winning the North Coast Section title, Dublin won its first match in the CIF Northern California tournament 7-0 against Chico at Broadstone Sports Club in Folsom before falling to Menlo in the NorCal Semifinals.
In their victory over Chico, Maya Peav, Madyson Peav, Olivia Halim, and Kashvi Ravi all won in Singles action, while Niyati Ravi/Alyssa Ma, Diya Prassana/Morgan Lemmo, and Mae Duong/Khloe Tran pulled off victories in Doubles. Dublin had several close matches against Menlo, but the perennial powerhouse was able to outlast the Gaels.
Dublin’s Boys Cross Country team finished the season 7th among Division 1 teams in Northern California and 17th overall in the State of California after their performance in the CIF State Meet at Woodward Park in Fresno. The Gaels concluded their season with some of their top returners earning medals in the Foot Locker Relays at Mt. San Antonio College.
Despite some key losses, the future looks promising for both programs as they look to make another deep postseason run next season.
