After a first half that was relatively close throughout, the Varsity Boys Basketball team pulled away in the 3rd quarter en route to an 84-62 over Heritage in the Don Nelson Classic Semifinals on Friday night. Dublin outscored the Patriots 22-9 in the 3rd quarter, turning a 7-point halftime advantage into an insurmountable 62-42 lead heading into the final quarter.
The Gaels will face a familiar foe for the tournament title, as it will be hosting EBAL Rival Foothill High School on Saturday night at 7:00. The Falcons advance to the title after game defeating Fairfield 54-40 in the DNC Semifinals, a game in which they limited their opponent to a mere 11 points during the first half.
With the victory, Dublin improves to 10-0 overall. The other team in action last night was the Varsity Boys Soccer team, which also maintained its undefeated mark after tying Heritage 2-2 to see its record go to 1-0-4 this season. Dublin’s other two Varsity teams are also unbeaten, as the Girls Basketball team is 4-0 overall while the Girls Soccer team is 3-0.
