Girls Basketball to Host West Coast Jamboree, Boys Basketball Win Opener in Classic at Damien

Dublin’s Boys and Girls Basketball teams have a busy slate of tournament action this week, as the Girls are set to host 8 West Coast Jamboree tournament games per day while the Varsity Basketball team is facing some of the strongest teams in the country in The Classic at Damien.

The West Coast Jamboree tips off on Friday, December 27th with six games in the Sports Complex starting at 11:30 a.m. and two games in the Auxiliary Gym beginning at 3:30. The tournament’s premier Platinum Division will have all of its games at Dublin High School, so it’s a great opportunity to see elite basketball and several future collegiate and potentially even WNBA starts.

Dublin (4-0) has been placed in the Pearl Division and will be opening up against Sonoma Valley at 1:00. The winner will advance to the Semifinal game in the Sports Complex on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., while the losing team will drop to the Consolation bracket and play at 3:30 on Saturday in the Auxiliary Gym. The tournament concludes on Monday, December 30th. Full tournament results can be found at www.westcoastjamboree.org with the live-stream of all games on Baller TV.

Meanwhile, the Varsity Boys Basketball team continued its red hot start to the season by defeating perennial powerhouse Etiwanda 46-39 to improve to 12-0 on the season. The Gaels jumped out to a 28-13 halftime advantage and withstood a 3rd quarter run to preserve the victory. Dublin will now face Crespi tonight at 5:00 in the Gold Division quarterfinals, with tournament action continuing through Monday. All tournament details can be found at www.classicatdamien.org.

Other basketball teams in tournament action this include Dublin’s Junior Varsity and Freshmen Boys Basketball teams. The JV Boys will be in the San Ramon Valley Tournament and open up this afternoon against Miramonte at 3:30, while the Freshmen Boys tip off against James Logan at 6:00 in the Dougherty Valley Tourney.
