Dublin Sends Record Number of Wrestlers to NCS

Dublin High School’s Wrestling program sent a record number of wrestlers to the upcoming North Coast Section tournaments based upon their results at last weekend’s East Bay Athletic League Championships.

The Gaels compiled three 1st place finishes in the event from Lytning Hazen, Navjot Waraich, and Lana Nguyen. Yousuf Amin and Alana Carlos had 2nd place finishes, while Landry Ngambia and Thunder Hazen finished in 3rd place in their respective events. Other NCS qualifers for the Gaels include Christian Carandang, Candice Carndang, Manahil Bajwa, April Montoya, Hana Nguyen, and Olivia O’Donnell

At the NCS Girls Wrestling Championship event at Albany High School, Navjot Waraich took 1st place while Lana Nguyen finished in 2nd place in their respective events. Both Waraich and Nguyen advanced to compete in the CIF State Championships in Bakersfield later this week (February 27-March 1st). In the NCS Boys Championships at James Logan, Lytning Hazen and Yousuf Amin each medaled by finishing in 3rd place.
