Three of Dublin High School’s teams will be carrying unblemished East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) records into the month of April following continued success in the final weeks of March.
The Badminton team is the squad off to the fastest start, jumping out to a 3-0 record in EBAL. Dublin defeated Quarry Lane in its season opener 11-6, followed by wins over Clayton Valley (17-0) and Emerald (38-8). All 3 schools are part of EBAL in the sport of Badminton as it plays under a Supplemental format since not all schools offer it. The Gaels will be back in action hosting a more traditional EBAL opponent as it takes on Foothill on Tuesday, April 1st at 4:30 in the Auxiliary Gym.
Dublin’s Girls Lacrosse team is also off to a great start, winning both of its EBAL contests on the road last week to start the league season. The Gaels defeated Granada 18-6 on Thursday to open EBAL followed by a 13-2 win over Livermore the following evening.
At 6-4 overall, the Gaels are poised to potentially have their first winning season since the program’s inception in 2008. In addition, Dublin is also in the mix for a potential EBAL title, as the league split itself this season based on a compilation of results from the past two seasons under the newly adopted competitive equity model. The Gaels now compete in the Valley Division with Livermore, Granada, Foothill, and Dougherty Valley. Dublin will be hosting Foothill on Tuesday, April 1st at 7:00 in a game that will go a long way towards determining the crown.
Statistically speaking though, the most successful program in the history of Dublin High School is currently the Girls Beach Volleyball program. In fact, Dublin has not lost a single match ever, as the Gaels defeated Livermore 3-0 in their one and only contest last Thursday at Fallon Sports Park. With an undefeated 1.000 winning percentage since the program’s inception, Coach Kramer and his squad can boast of never having a single defeat!
The Girls Beach Volleyball team will see if it can maintain its dominance atop the record books when it plays San Ramon Valley on Tuesday and Dougherty Valley on Thursday. Both matches will take place at Dublin High’s home courts, which are located at Fallon Sports Park.
