After a relatively quiet Spring Break for Dublin High Athletics, virtually every team is back in action this week with several facing critical tests with postseason implications.
The Dublin High Beach Volleyball team takes its undefeated record into a showdown with Carondelet on Tuesday at Fallon Sports Park (4:00) in a match that will go a long way towards determining the East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) regular season title. Later that evening, the Girls Lacrosse team faces a similar test, as it brings its undefeated EBAL Valley Division record into a home game against Dougherty Valley at 7:00. A win by the Gaels gives them a great chance to finish with no worse than its first ever co-league title.
Three other teams positioned near the top of the EBAL standings that are at home on Tuesday include the Baseball, Badminton, and Boys Volleyball teams. Coming off of its Alhambra Easter Tournament title, the Baseball team (14-2) plays the first of three games this week when it hosts Livermore at 4:00 in a make-up game that was originally postponed due to rain. Meanwhile, the Boys Volleyball team (15-4) will also be hosting the Cowboys at 6:00, while the Badminton team (4-1) hosts Monte Vista in the Auxiliary Gym (4:30).
One other team in a pivotal matchup on Tuesday is the Stunt Cheer team. Sitting at 6-4 overall following its West Park Tournament championship during Spring Break, the team has an opportunity to make history and achieve the program’s first winning season since its inception. The Gaels will be taking on Livermore at Monte Vista High School at 7:30.
