Two of this spring’s most successful sports within the Dublin High Athletic program have been the Girls Lacrosse and Girls Beach Volleyball teams. For Girls Lacrosse, this success can be measured in historic milestones achieved, while for Girls Beach Volleyball history is being made on a regular basis in the program’s inaugural season.
Dublin’s Girls Lacrosse team celebrated its Senior Night on Friday with a 13-1 win over Granada. In total, there were 13 seniors who were honored before the game. With the victory, the Gaels improved to 12-4 overall and remain unbeaten in the East Bay Athletic League’s Valley Division.
The program has already achieved its most victories and first winning season since the program’s inception. If Dublin can defeat Dougherty Valley on the road in its season finale on Friday, the program will be able to earn its first ever league title.
In Girls Beach Volleyball, the Gaels swept its three matches last week and improved to 7-1 overall on the season. Dublin earned a narrow victory over Amador Valley before sweeping both Emerald and Granada. Dublin will next play host to Monte Vista at Fallon Sports Park on Tuesday, April 29th (4:00 p.m.).
Although there isn’t an official North Coast Section tournament, plans are in the works for some type of EBAL Girls Beach Volleyball tournament which likely would be hosted by Dublin High at Fallon Sports Park sometime in mid-May. More details to follow.
