Dublin High School Athletics is pleased to announce that Mike Bielski has been hired as its new Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach. Bielski replaces Jered Lui, who stepped down after a successful 3-year tenure which saw the Gaels notch North Coast Section postseason victories in the past two seasons.
Bielski brings over two decades of collegiate coaching experience to the program, including his current role as Head Women’s Soccer Coach at CSU Maritime, where his team competes in the NAIA. Previously, he served seven seasons as Head Men’s Soccer Coach at NCAA Division II Cal State East Bay. Under his leadership, 10 players earned all-conference honors, the team consistently maintained a GPA above 3.00.
From 2011 to 2016, Bielski led the men’s program at Otero Junior College in La Junta Colorado to a 72-24-5 record, earning Region IX championships in 2013 and 2015. He was named Region IX Coach of the Year in both title-winning seasons. He served as interim women’s coach for one spring season while there.
Bielski began his coaching career as an assistant at Cal State Monterey Bay for both men and women’s teams and later became Head Coach at Monterey Peninsula College. As a player, he was a two-time all-conference selection and team captain at both Ohlone College and CSUMB. He went on to play professionally with California Gold (USL) and Salinas Valley Samba (NPSL), helping the latter reach two postseason appearances and the second round of the U.S. Open Cup.
He holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies from CSUMB, a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from Saint Mary’s College of California, and a USC Premier Coaching License. Bielski and his wife, Jacqulyn, reside in Dublin with their 19 month old daughter, Laney—already a proud supporter of the team.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity and want to thank Tim Sbranti and the hiring committee for their support throughout the process,” said Bielski. “I look forward to meeting the team and getting started on the season ahead.”
