Although the Boys Varsity Tennis season was cut short this year, it was still one of the most memorable ones in recent years. Dublin did great as a team, showing significant improvement while competing at a high level.
Rohan Lakumb, Arshaq Pattani, Ashwin Vasudevan, Kevin Chen, Ginghei Mao, Kevin Li, Sankalp Kumar, and Anurag Sanadi are the graduating seniors who deserve special recognition for their commitment to the program. All of the seniors played incredibly well and contributed to the team’s success. The Gaels finished with a winning record of 4-3, which is an impressive feat in the highly competitive EBAL. Dublin started the season strong with a 9-0 win over Livermore, which was followed by the program’s first victory against San Ramon Valley in over 40 years. The Gaels also notched an impressive win against De La Salle and knocked off Granada 8-1 in the season finale.
Dublin was poised to make even greater strides throughout the season to potentially qualify for an NCS berth, but unfortunately didn’t get the opportunity. Head Coach Jason Wilson hopes this situation doesn’t discourage the seniors from playing tennis after high school, and is also hopeful that the returners will contiue training to become better players.and continue the positive momentum generated this season.
