Dublin High School’s Football season officially kicks off tonight as the Gaels travel to California High School to take on the Grizzlies. Both the Junior Varsity and Varsity games will be live-streamed at www.gaelstv.com with the Junior Varsity game starting at 4:00, followed by the Varsity game at 7:00. Fans can also catch the action at a viewing party being held at Coach’s Grills (7222 Regional Street).
The Football teams are hoping for a similar fortune of Dublin’s Swim program in their season debut. The Gaels took on Livermore in their first meet of the year at The Dublin Wave Waterpark, edging out the Cowboys by a combined Boys and Girls score of 1,323-1,307. Dublin will host another meet at the Wave on Friday, March 19th against Amador Valley. More info to follow as it is expected that the meet will be live-streamed since spectators are not allowed.
In other season home openers, the Dublin Varsity Girls Golf defeated Livermore 231 to 336 on March 11th at the San Ramon Golf Course. The best score for the Gaels was a 37 by Jessie Burch. Three freshmen also played their first high school match led by Sofia Gonzalez who shot a 55.
Earlier in the week at the Grizzly Golf Invitational, both our Boys and Girls teams dealt with challenging conditions of hail and heavy rains to post impressive finishes. The Girls finished in 2nd place with a score of 410. while the Boys placed 3rd with a score of 415. On the individual standings, Alex Suen was the fifth place boy with a 76 and Kim Burch was the 5th place girl with a 79.
