Dublin’s Girls Varsity Tennis Team edged out Foothill by a score of 5-4 in a rescheduled match at Foothill on March 15th. The Gaels’ decisive match was won by No. 6 Singles player Nirupama Suravarjjala 7-5, 7-5. Jessica Holbea, Nishitha Hindi, Rachel Leung were also victorious in singles, while Jahnri Reddy/Soha Ahmad won at No. 3 Doubles. Despite Dublin’s 6-3 loss on Tuesday against defending EBAL champion Amador Valley, the Gaels still finished the first half of the season with a mark of 3-1.
The Dublin Girls Varsity Golf Team won their 4th match in a row by beating Granada 220 to 270. Low score was Kim Burch with 41. Annie Zhou and Jessie Burch tied for second at 42. Dublin JV boys played De La Salle at Dublin Ranch. falling 179-198. Dublin’s Yuto Ohkawa and Braden Ou led the Gaels with a 38 and 39 respectively.
In the season-opener for the Varsity Baseball team, the Gaels’ pitching staff recorded a whopping 16 strikeouts to defeat Livermore 2-0. Dublin’s home-opener will be on March 24th against San Ramon Valley. The JV team also had a successful start to their season, claiming a 3-2 walk-off win against Livermore.
