The Dublin High School Varsity Football team erupted for 39 first half points en route to a commanding 46-8 victory over Irvington at Tak Fudenna Stadium in Fremont on Friday night. In addition, the Junior Varsity football team was also victorious on Friday night, as they went on the road to defeat Alameda 28-8.
With the win, the Varsity team is now 3-1 overall this season heading into their showdown this upcoming Friday, September 24th at home against perennial powerhouse Liberty High School of Brentwood at 7:00 p.m.. The Junior Varsity squad remains unbeaten at 3-0-1 overall and will be kicking off at home against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free to both games with a DHS Digital Sports pass and/or an ASB sticker. In other action late last week, the Dublin Varsity Girls’ Volleyball team had a thrilling five-set match against Foothill that lasted nearly three hours before the Falcons eventually prevailed. Despite the loss, the highlight of the match was the second set in which the Gaels fought off multiple set points before coming out on top 35-33 against a highly touted Foothill squad that features a player headed to UCLA on a scholarship next year.
For the third time this season, the Gaels’ Varsity tennis match was decided by a narrow 5-4 margin as Dublin defeated San Ramon Valley 5-4. Jessica Holbea, Niyati Ravi, Soha Ahmad, and Alyssa Ma all won their Singles matches, while Jahnvi Reddy and Ekaterina Lokteva were successful at the #1 Doubles position.
