The Dublin High Varsity Girls Volleyball team went on the road to defeat Carondelet 25-23, 23-25, 25-11, 14-25, 16-14. This was a remarkable feat considering that the Cougars were currently ranked 5th by the Bay Area News Group for the entire region and also appeared in the CIF Division III State Championships last season.

Senior captains Brielle Rodrigues and Rachel Grier provided leadership on the court and led the team in kills and aces. As a team, the Gaels served for 13 aces on the night. Junior Setter Lila Siale led the team in assists and was fantastic on defense. Sophomore Libero Mira Mehta led the team in digs, and Junior Alena Dinh supported the offense with her back row offensive attacks and solid serve receive and deense.

The win was Dublin’s 8th consecutive victory, as the team improved to 9-2 overall as it heads into a rematch against Amador Valley at home on Tuesday, September 27th at 6:30 p.m.. The Dons defeated the Gaels 3-0 in a match that was moved to Las Positas College during the heat wave earlier in the week. Dublin’s undefeated Junior Varsity and Freshman teams will also be in action beforehand (4:30/5:30) in what undoubtedly will be an exciting day of volleyball in the Sports Complex.

Another team on a roll right now is the Girls Golf team. Dublin is in the midst of a 4-match win streak, including wins this week over San Ramon Valley 248-266 on September 21st and Livermore 199-200 on September 22nd. Natalie Park had the best round of the week by shooting a 37 in Thursday’s win over the Cowboys, followed closely behind by Fineza Ramos who shot a 38.
