This past week saw two different teams posts dramatic victories over Granada.

The first one came on April 1st in Boys Golf, when Shreyas Tulsi sank a 25-foot putt for a birdie on the final hole to propel Dublin past Granada 105-108 at Poppy Ridge. Nate Park and Shaan Mathur each shot a 4-under 32 in the 2-man scramble format.

The following day, Dublin completed its theatrics against the Matadors by posting a 16-15 overtime win to claim its first EBAL victory of the year. Freshman Morgan Overton scored the winning goal to help Dublin earn the “Sudden Win” once the teams ended regulation tied at 15-15. The victory also demonstrates significant improvement for a team that just 10 days prior had lost to Granada 16-8.

After a one-week hiatus, Dublin Football will be live-streamed once again this Saturday, April 3rd on GaelsTV, the official media partner of Dublin High School Athletics. The start of the JV game has been moved up to 3:30 in order to accommodate Senior Night festivities, while the Varsity game will be kicking off at 7:00. In addition to the opportunity for fans to view on their computer, tablet, and/or mobile device, fans can also catch the live-stream at Coach’s Grille on Regional Street. Now that Alameda County is in the Orange Tier, the Marching Band, Drum Line, and Color Guard will be on-hand, and a few more spectators have been admitted so the atmosphere will be more reminiscent of the traditional “Friday Night Lights” that Gaels football fans are accustomed.

Looking ahead to the start of indoor sports in mid-April, Dublin Athletics also officially began its COVID testing protocols on April 1st. The plan will be to test indoor athletes at least once per week and in some instances 2-3 times per week to maintain safety. In other developments for indoor sports, the State of California announced on Friday the opportunity for limited capacity attendance at indoor athletic events. More details to follow on policies related to fan attendance for Dublin.
