DUBLIN HIGH LACROSSE HAS ITS BEST SEASON YET!

Dublin High School fields both a JV Team and a Varsity team and has just completed its best season in a number of years.   Although the season was cut short due to COVID-19, Varsity got their first win in Dublin High history over Foothill High School and JV got their first win in 4 years.

The 2020 season was off to a great start with a record number of new players signing up for the sport, which is encouraging as in previous seasons Dublin High has struggled to find players and only competed as a Varsity team.  Men’s lacrosse @ DHS is growing and improving every game. Both teams were coached by Coach Perry and he feels they were starting to come along as a team and would have continued to grow and accomplish great things had this season been able to continue.  Coach Perry thanks all the players the time and effort they put in to make the 5 weeks of the season what they were.

JV ended their season with their first win in 4 years, which is tremendous given that the team is on their second season after a 2 year hiatus and 80% of the players had never picked up a stick before last year. They also played a really competitive double overtime game against College Park.  The top scorers on JV are Brandon Costello with 8 goals/2 assists, Ryan Kurotori with 4 goals/4 assists, Alex Magnuson with 3 goals/1assist and Jacob Shaver with 3 goals.

Varsity came out strong this season with a win over Foothill High School in the second game of the season.  This was history making as it was the first win ever against Foothill.  They played a highly contested game against College Park even after a slow start in the first quarter and then against Northgate had a wild comeback from behind, with a lockdown D in the 3rd quarter that fell just short in the fourth.

The leading scorers on Varsity are Eddie Padnos with 11 goals, Ronan Borja with 2 goals/6assists and Alex Chau with 3 goals.

The MVP for Varsity is Asher Joseph and JVarsity MVP is Ben Boboc.
