Busy Summer of Training Activities for DHS Athletics

Despite the fact that the 2021-2022 school year has just ended, preparations are already underway in earnest for the 2022-23 athletic seasons. All student-athletes planning to participate in sports at Dublin High School are encouraged to go to www.athleticclearance.com and follow all of the prompts in order to get cleared.

 

One of the requirements for getting cleared is to have an updated physical on file. To that end, the Dublin High Athletic Boosters will be having a doctor on campus on Thursday, July 14th to issue physicals. More info on exact time and location will be forthcoming, but please save the date and take advantage of this opportunity. The cost is only $40.

 

Several programs also have a full slate of strength and conditioning training, summer leagues, clinics, camps, and “open” activities planned.

FALL SPORTS (Tryouts begin on August 8th)

 

Competition Cheer – Tryouts are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 14th at 6:00 p.m. in the Auxiliary Gym. Contact Coach Carrie Osmer at mscosmer@gmail.com if you are interested in trying out.

 

Sideline Cheer – Training begins on Tuesday, June 7th at 5:00 p.m. in the Weight Room. Although the placement process has already begun, if you are still interested in being a part of the program contact Coach Chandler Mahal as mahalchandler@dublinusd.org

 

Cross Country (Boys/Girls) – Training begins on Monday, June 6th and will take place Monday-Saturday mornings starting at 9:00 a.m. Please visit http://www.dublincrosscountry.com or contact Coach Chris Williams at coachcrhiswilliams@yahoo.com for more information.

 

Football – Camps begin on Monday, June 13th and will take place most weekday mornings from 6:30-9:30 a.m. Contact Coach Brandon Black at blackbrandon@dublinusd.org

Girls Tennis – Open Hitting TBD. Contact Coach Jason Wilson with questions on the program or for info on try-outs at wilsonjason@dublinusd.org

 

Girls Volleyball – Open Gym scheduled for Saturday, June 11th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Several camps, clinics, and Open Gyms are planned for late July/early August. Contact Coach Mike Bongay at coachmbongay@yahoo.com for info.

 

Girls Water Polo – Weight Training begins on Monday, July 18th and there will likely be some film sessions and pool training in late July/early August. Contact Coach Emily Hurd at hurdemily@dublinusd.org for info.

 

Boys Water Polo – TBD. Still looking for a Varsity Head Coach. If you are interested in applying and/or know someone who might be interested, please contact Athletic Director Tim Sbranti at sbrantitim@dublinusd.org. WINTER SPORTS (Tryouts begin on October 31st)

 

Boys Basketball – Various basketball activities taking place almost daily in the month of June with weight-training throughout the summer starting at 3:00. For more information, contact Coach Tom Costello at costellotom@dublinusd.org.

 

Girls Basketball – Limited basketball activities taking place in mid-late June with weight training planned but exact schedule still TBD (likely in the evenings). Stunt Cheer – Those who are interested in Stunt are encouraged to try out for the Competition Cheer squad and/or sign up for Sideline Cheer. Weight training opportunities will be available for those interested in trying out for Stunt every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00-6:00 p.m. starting on Tuesday, June 7th.
